Welcome to Bugthorpe Under Fives

Bugthorpe Under Fives pre-school was established in 1991 by a group of parents who saw a lack of under five education in a rural community.  Affectionately known as 'playgroup' Bugthorpe Under Fives is a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and has Registered Charity status.  We are registered on the Early Years Register and open to inspection by Ofsted.  Playgroup is for children aged from two years to school age.  The group is run by a Committee of elected parents; we meet regularly and parents are kept informed of all events and details of fundraisers through our newsletter.

Children learn through play, therefore, we aim to fulfil the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of the children by providing equal acces to a wide range of stimulating, well organised play activities. Equipment is carefully selected to enable children to have a choice of activity, providing a well balanced range of play experiences.

Sessions take place at the Bugthorpe War Memorial Institute, Bugthorpe, East Yorkshire in a beautiful rural setting.  In addition to the hall we have a large outside space which was recently boosted by a new play area.
